Rev. Brian D. Hunter is a dynamic and empowering spiritual leader celebrated for his practical wisdom, thought-provoking insights, and uplifting humor. As a third-generation preacher, his ministry is deeply rooted in a rich legacy of faith—shaped by the powerful influence of his grandfather, Superintendent Lavell Thompson, and his father, Elder Howard Earl Hunter.

Since 2007, Rev. Hunter has faithfully served as Pastor of Berkeley Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he leads with the guiding mission to “Empower God’s People Beyond Sunday Morning.” His leadership and vision have made a lasting impact both within his congregation and throughout the broader community.

Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Hunter’s voice and ministry have been featured in a range of media outlets, including NPR and several local documentaries and publications, highlighting his ability to connect faith with real-life experiences.

A devoted husband and father, he shares life’s journey with his wife, Lori Broom-Hunter, and their four children—Imanni, Joseph, Imarra, and Imannul—who continue to inspire his ministry and mission.
